About Music In The Burnhams
Music in the Burnhams was formed as ‘Music in Thorpe’ in 2021 to promote
music of all genres through a series of concerts held initially in All Saints
Church, Burnham Thorpe, better known as Nelson’s Church.
We now hold our concerts in Burnham Market in the Anglo Saxon Church
Sutton cum Ulph and in the beautiful village hall in Burnham Overy Staithe,.
Music in the Burnhams is a non-profit making organisation and most concerts
benefit the village primary school or the local church. We are particularly
proud of our two-day workshop at the local school where the children are
coached by graduate students from Trinity Laban College of Music in London.
This culminates in a full-scale costumed performance staged at the school.
Prior to the workshop most of the school are involved in the preparation of
costumes, props or signage and include as many parents and children during
on the night of the performance.
During the winter months we also hold a number of informal Music Supper
Clubs in the village hall in Burnham Market, where we are entertained by great
musicians and enjoy a simple supper and a drink or two.
